Rinkeldekinkel is an anthology of Dutch-language poetry, translated and/or selected by Rob Schouten, published by Milkweed Editions in 2021. As an anthology, the book’s title carries a bright ring of sound, asking the reader to hear Dutch not as a neutral vehicle but as a music with edges. Anthologies are useful because they refuse the fantasy that one poet can stand in for a whole language.
