Moods & women & men & once again moods
Anthology
Translated from Romanian by Ruxandra Cesereanu
Moods & women & men & once again moods is an anthology translated by Ruxandra Cesereanu from Romanian, gathering Romanian-language poetry from Romania through an anthology of Romanian moods, gendered recurrence, and emotional atmosphere as a formal subject. Its value comes from chorus rather than singular authorship, so I would not treat it as one poet's private weather. The better entrance is through moods, women, men, and the repeated weather of desire, social life, and self-recognition. Anthologies can become maps, but the best ones also leave room for wandering, disagreement, and surprise. Moods & women & men & once again moods belongs in the translated poetry library because it gives Romanian poetry a plural and tonal entry point built from feeling rather than a single argument. It gives a reader several doors into a tradition before asking them to choose only one.
