Love is my savior
Jalāl al-Dīn Rūmī Maulana
Translated from Arabic by Anthony A, Nesreen Akhtarkhavari
Love is my savior, by Jalāl al-Dīn Rūmī Maulana, is a Arabic poetry collection from Iran, translated by Anthony A, Nesreen Akhtarkhavari, published by Michigan State University Press in 2016. It is a Rumi volume that should be approached carefully, not as decorative mysticism, but as devotional intensity passing through translation and centuries of reception. I would not approach it as a book that needs to be solved before it can begin working. Start with the title, the pressure of the translated line, and the feeling of a voice making room for itself in English. The value here is not just metadata or representation, but the chance to let one poet's particular difficulty create its own weather.
